A new concept to safely and hygienically store your siwak after use. A plastic pen-like miswak holder opens to keep your siwak clean from dust and insects. Keep the holder securely in your pocket, desk, or bathroom.
Muslims use what is called a miswak. A miswak, or siwak, is a small stick with which the teeth are rubbed and cleaned. The end is shaped into a brush through biting or chewing, which separates the fibers and releases the healing herbal powers of the twig. Some advantages of the miswak are that it does not require toothpaste, water, or a special area to use it, and may be easily carried in one's purse or pocket. It is also disposable and biodegradable - therefore, it is the ultimate environmentally safe toothbrush. Some people even believe it works better than a toothbrush. Nevertheless, a more compelling reason to use the miswak is that it is Sunnah to do so.
Abu Hurairah reported that Prophet Mohammad (saws) said, "Were it not that I might overburden believers, I would have ordered them to use the miswak at every prayer" (Imam Muslim, Vol. 1).
A few important benefits of Miswak:
1. Kills bacteria that cause gum disease
2. Fights plaque effectively.
3. Useful and effective for teeth whitening
4. Helps reduce tooth decay
5. Removes Bad breath and odor from mouth.
6. Creates a fragrance in the mouth.
7. Effectively cleans between teeth due to its parallel bristles.
8. Increases salivation and hence inhibits dry mouth (Xerostomia)
How To Use Miswak?
To use your miswak stick: Remove the stick from the package and trim or chew the bark off one end of the stick; about a 1/2 inch. Chew on the exposed end until the twig forms bristles. Brush as usual. No toothpaste is required. The miswak will freshen the mouth. Every few days (when bristles look like an old broom) cut off the exposed bristles, peel bark, and start anew.
